I haven’t updated you guys in a little while, and that’s partly because I’ve been working hard, and also taking some more time to hang out and do non-code stuff.

However, I have been working on a new version of incredible! and I wanted to give a rundown of what, so far, should be expected.

  • Twitter Profiles. Yep, they’re there. I wrapped them up last night and they look nice.
  • Facebook Profiles. They won’t be super full featured, but you’ll be able to see the gist of a person’s identity and add them as a friend.
  • foursquare Profiles. Simple profile content, like their name, location, and their mayorships.
  • Flickr Profiles. Brief user info and recent photos they’ve posted.
  • Improved stream refresh. This was one of the biggest requests. Now, when you refresh, the stream remembers where you were and also displays a little banner between the old and new posts to better explain where you left off.
  • Panel Rearrangements. The Details Panel can now be swiped away! However, the stream still won’t expand to the remaining width (not the intentions of the app), but a new panel of some AWESOME content and info will be there in its place. I don’t want to give details away yet, but, the goal is to make it easier for you to find quality stuff your friends have posted, as well as keep you informed about stuff.
  • Bug fixes. Some visual and functional bugs will be fixed.

What’s to come? I have ideas, but here are some potential steps for the next next version.

  • New networks. Depending on when Google opens up their Google+ API more, it’ll be added in. Untappd, RSS feeds, and Tumblr are probably the next candidates.
  • Messaging. I’ve heard you guys. I’m not totally sold on adding in FB messages and Twitter DMs, but I’m exploring the idea. They will likely be in a separate area and not tossed into the main stream. Perhaps a unified inbox?
  • Notifications. If you can see posts, profiles, and messages in the app, why not see your notifications? If I follow through with messaging, a “Grand Central Station” type of area for notifications for all of your networks is in the future. See when a friend comments on a link on Facebook or when a friend follows a list you made on foursquare all in one spot.
  • Lists. Facebook has Friend Lists. Twitter has Lists. Google+ has Circles. Wouldn’t it be nice to see those lists as a stream filter in incredible!? Wouldn’t also be nice to make your own incredible! lists that feature users from multiple networks? For example, let’s say you have a “webOS Fans” list on Twitter and also a “webOS Users” Friend List on Facebook. It’d be cool if incredible! could merge them into one stream.

Those last few things are ideas, not definite plans, but they’d be cool if implemented. I’ll focus on getting the core features of the app working perfectly first, but I like where things are going.

Got any ideas yourself?
