Here’s a quick look of Phase One of the new zBar I’m developing. It’s fully customizable:
- Button heights and widths are customizable
- Captions are optional
- Have as many buttons as will fit on the screen
- Works in portrait and landscape modes
- Multiple toolbars can be defined and can be swapped out on-the-fly at run-time
- Different button types available
- Raw HTML content can be added as an item
- Notification badges can be assigned to buttons
I plan on adding tons of features to the zBar to make it fully customizable. Once it’s fine-tuned and working perfectly in the Foursquare app, I’ll release the code on GitHub for others to use in their webOS apps.
What this means for Foursquare users: Prepare for a super slick, intuitive, interface and experience like you haven’t had in other webOS apps (including the current Foursquare app).
Sure, it’s just a toolbar, but man, it’s so much more.
Oh — heh — looks like I also leaked the new headers for the app too. Well, there you go!
